We know that the arrival of a baby brings many questions. Here you will find clear and helpful information about our services, the care process, and how to care for you and your baby.
What do I do if my baby arrives early?
You must contact your physician immediately for guidance. If you cannot communicate, consider going to the hospital if you have regular contractions (every 5 to 10 minutes), rupture of membranes, or significant discomfort.
What if my gynecologist is unavailable?
We have a team of highly trained on-call gynecologists and pediatricians to address any eventuality. Additionally, your attending physician usually has a backup colleague.
Do you have emergency gynecologists?
Yes, we have on-call gynecologists available for emergency situations.
In an emergency, do you call an ambulance?
Yes, the hospital coordinates ambulance transfer. The cost will be included in the patient's bill.
What if I need a blood transfusion?
We have a blood bank on our premises with continuous availability.
Does the hospital have a neonatal intensive care unit?
We have a Neonatal Intermediate Care Unit.
Do you have an emergency neonatologist?
Yes, we have highly trained on-call specialists to address any eventuality.
What happens if all the rooms are occupied?
Your transfer to our location in San José will be arranged, maintaining the same standard of care.
When should I arrive at the hospital?
- Scheduled cesarean: Arrive 2 hours before the surgery, complete your pre-registration with the Hospital Patient Manager in advance.
- Vaginal delivery: Follow your physician's instructions. If you are unable to contact them, consider coming to the hospital if you experience signs such as regular contractions, rupture of membranes, or intense pain.
What time is the patient discharged from the hospital?
After a minimum of 24 hours following birth and with medical approval, once all required tests are completed.
What happens if I'm late checking out?
An additional night will be charged if the room remains occupied past midnight.
Is parking included in the plan?
Yes, the plan includes 24 hours of parking for one vehicle. Does not apply to visitors.
Can I bring a doula?
Yes, you may accompany her during labor. During delivery, only one companion is permitted.
Can I bring my midwife?
Yes, you may accompany her during labor. For delivery itself, only one companion is allowed.
What should I do if I have nowhere to leave my other child?
They may remain in the room if under the supervision of an adult at all times. The mother should not assume this responsibility.
How do visits work?
- Schedule: from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
- In the room: a maximum of 2 people at a time.
- Waiting room: maximum time of 2 hours per visitor for everyone's comfort.
Can I bring fast food for my companion?
Not inside the room. It must be consumed in the hospital dining room.
Can I follow my own diet if I have a special diet?
Yes, as long as you have medical authorization.
Are cesarean sections humanized?
Yes. We seek to offer a respectful and patient-centered experience. You may coordinate details with your physician to personalize the process.
Do you offer water births?
No, we do not currently have this modality.
Can I bring another photographer?
Yes, with prior authorization from the physician. For cesarean sections, admittance to the operating room must be approved.
Can I book a photo shoot?
Yes, and your children and family members may also participate.
What is a contract and what is it for?
The contract guarantees the promotions in effect at the time of signing.
Can I make advance payments?
Yes. It is recommended not to pay 100% to avoid unnecessary adjustments. Upon admission, you must pay 50% of the quoted amount, and the remainder upon discharge.
What happens if I signed the contract, but I didn't have my baby in the hospital?
The amount can be applied to other hospital services. Cash refunds are not issued, except in duly verified cases (for example, delivery in a public hospital). An epicrisis will be required.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, credit, and debit cards. Payment must be completed at the time of discharge.
